As I might have mentioned just a few times, our school entered a knitting competition, knitting squares for charity. I dropped off our 59 blankets on the way to Craft Camp, made up of 1001 squares. Proudness.
Well it turns out we are in the top eight, of all of Orstraylia. The top eight schools were invited to Save the Children headquarters today to make a presentation on how we would spend the money.
One of the other schools presenting said 70% of their children don't speak English at home so they want to spend the money on aides to ESL aides.
We wanted to spend it on an outside learning area. Seems a bit frivolous by comparison. Maybe they could get first prize and we'll have second.
Two of the teachers went and three of the children. And one of them was mine! More proudness.
They chose Pippa because she knitted one of the squares. It started off with 40 stitches and was up to 88 by the time she'd gone half way. End result was a slightly bumpy, textured kinda square. It had charm.
Fingers crossed, we get the results on monday.
congratulations Jenny!
